I Am Out Of Job!

Money is one of the most emotional subjects in many homes. As a matter of fact, statistics show that over 50% of the arguments in many families are money related. This is one topic that gets people’s attention, fills seminar rooms, increases the intensity of most discussions, etc. What exactly is money and how can families get more of it? Evidence in literature depicts that these two questions have been over-researched, the proof of this is apparent in printing presses, libraries, book stores, etc. However, very few have been able to simplify it for the average individual to grasp its core.

Simply put, money is a reward for meeting a need or solving a problem for someone else. Everyone who earns wages legitimately must have solved a problem for someone else. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Aliko Dangote, Mark Zuckerberg, etc., are all solving problems for us all, howbeit, on a large scale. Hence, if you are unable to provide for your family because you are broke and out of job at the moment, don’t panic, take some time to identify the needs you can meet with what you have, where you are. Select one of those needs and begin your journey towards delivering value. Money follows value. Think long term; think value; think excellence; and think valuable relationships. You can change your family fortune, stop feeling helpless.

What can you do today that will better position your family tomorrow? What skills would be needed in the next 10 years? Would your industry still be relevant in the next 10 years?

THINK & ACT: Choose a goal, a need, people who can support you and your potential clients and get to work.
