“I Don’t Love You Anymore”
Love is a powerful thing, one of the most powerful forces ever. When people are in love, amazing things happen, lol. I have seen people travel around the world with money they don’t have, just to spend a few days with a loved one. I have seen parents bend over backwards to make incredible sacrifices, just for their children. I have heard stories of people who carried out superhuman activities, just to save a drowning loved one. Some people even become so poetic to their amazement.
Love is a beautiful thing. Howbeit, love is like a living organism that can die over a period of time, if left on its own. When romance exits the marriage like cold air during summer, often times, it is because something is wrong with its base, the place where it’s all springs up- THE HEART!
TIP 3: Stay Connected. Before any spouse’s heart disconnects and romance becomes a whisper, before love turns into an archeological artefact, something happens, sometimes unintentionally, other times quietly and unnoticed. It’s like turning off the engine of a car, the engine may still be warm, but the power has been disconnected. “What is this?”, you might ask… Disconnected hearts! When couples disconnect their hearts from each other, most times, they still call each other sweet names, wear similar colours of clothes, go through the emotions, attend events together, but the power has been turned off. It’s like the common saying, “dead man walking”, but in this case, it’s dead marriage.
Why is this important? The heart is where all our life’s experiences are formed. It’s the engine room of life, love, romance and relationships. This is where we fall in or out of love from. The heart must stay connected.
The reality of relationship is that we must be vulnerable to truly love and be loved. That is, love and romance bridge the gap between two people. This is why we must constantly keep watch of our hearts. It’s what we call ‘heart-check’. This can be accomplished by examining your heart, your thoughts and feelings about the relationship from time to time. If there are pending unresolved issues, they must be clarified with your spouse in the most amicable way possible.
