Sex and your mind – Chidi & Victor Akunna

As mentioned yesterday, this is a short series on Healthy Sex Life.

One of the key elements of a successful marriage is a regular and healthy sex life. Sex between married spouses, especially when they structure it to please each other (rather than meeting selfish needs at the expense of each other), can be a rewarding experience. Hence, we would like to talk about what you can do to make every experience unique and special; an experience your spouse constantly looks forward to.

The mind and sex. It is important for us to understand that sex begins in the mind; the seat of emotions. In fact, your key sex organ is your mind. This implies that beyond structuring time for sex, we must ensure that we build each other’s emotions. This is particularly important if one (or both) of you runs very busy schedules.

Learn to flirt with your spouse in the course of your day. When using words, use words that paint pictures. For example, rather than say, “I love you”, “I miss you”, consider saying, “spending time with you makes me feel special”, “holding your hands makes my heart race”, “they say pictures speak a thousand words, but every moment we spend together cannot be captured by the finest camera”.

My motivation for doing this is my commitment to making my wife happy. It is important to me that she is happy with me and that she enjoys the whole experience. This is true for her as well because I see it in her attitude and actions towards me.
Strengthening the right memories and building perfect emotions during the day helps prepare you for the perfect night.

Make up your mind to wow your spouse!
