Where is the Flame?

phpKOc72oPMFriendship in marriage needs to be nurtured regularly!

Mary and Paul meet in school and fall in love. They leave school years later and the love between them grows stronger. They decide to get married. Regardless of how busy their schedules are, the friendship between them is intact.

Ten years later, they have three children and life is busier. They talk less and spend less time together; the passion they share wanes.

According to C.S. Lewis, “It is when we are doing things together that friendship springs up – painting, sailing ships, praying, philosophizing, and fighting shoulder to shoulder. Friends look in the same direction.”

Friendship in marriage needs to be nurtured regularly. When couples do not give attention to developing their friendship, they grow apart.

Through prayers and deliberate efforts, friendship can be restored. Seek activities you both enjoy; take out time to do things that would boost your friendship. Your marriage is worth it!

  3. Amazing article… great work. Victor and chidi !!
Marriage is a universal connection between two souls.. however things like physical chemistry, emotional bonding, or mutual understanding etc. must be nurtured every day. Its an on going process.. “to be with the flow, you have to flow….” One should not leave something on the other partner to understand your needs or desires by default. U have to build that friendship n keep nourishing it throughout.
